building quality

A Dutchfoils kitefoil is strong, light and stiff. To accomplish this, the kitefoil is made out of Full carbon. Only the best suitable carbon fibres like, Textreme, Triax, biax and UD ‘s are used. Orientation and a smart layup design makes that every fiber is pointing in the right direction. In combination with the fibres, a specially selected, high quality epoxy resin is used in the matrix to accomplish the required properties.

The main structural parts like the mast and fuselage are made in one go and in one piece, using Bladder inflation techniques (BIM) in closed moulds, similar to the production of monocoque carbon fiber bicycle frames.

Technically speaking, this means that the majority of the underlaying bundles of fibres are not intermittent in the corners or seams. Therefore, in production, it’s not needed to glue or bond halves together, preventing any risk of splitting or snapping the pieces when in use afterwards.

Using this technique also ensures the possibility for the highest strength to weight ratio possible, which makes the construction light weight and strong.[/vc_column_text][rev_slider_vc alias=”R_D”][vc_column_text]

Design and simulation

To ensure maximum efficiency of the foils, our kitefoils are designed using flow simulations to minimize drag while ensuring optimal, lift, pitch, roll and yaw control and resistance.

For this design process we use computer simulation software.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Innovation and testing

The kite- hydrofoil concept in general is relatively new and developing rapidly. To stay up to date and try to get/stay ahead of competition Dutchfoils is regularly improving it’s designs and engages in product innovation. New parts are tested intensively during it’s concept lifecycle before it becomes a real product ready to sell.

Development is taking place in cooperation with our customers If you want to join our test and review team, get in contact![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
